"Dan Cavanaugh (former Gary Dineen Hockey School Student) knows how to play hockey. The players who come from Gary Dineen's program always do." Jack Parker, Coach, Boston University, Boston Herald, January 4, 1999

Hockey Staff

The Staff

The school will be under the personal direction of Gary Dineen and Lincoln Flagg.

Gary has been at the helm of the most successful junior hockey organization in the country for the past three decades. Gary played for hockey legend and Hall of Famer Father David Bauer at St. Michaels of Toronto and won a Memorial Cup in the early 1960's. Gary was a member of two Canadian Olympic Teams and played in the Minnesota North Stars organization and finished his career with the AHL Calder Cup Champion Springfield Kings in 1971. The following year he was named coach and GM of the Kings. Gary's success at the Junior level has included 29 of his players being drafted by NHL teams.

Hockey Philosophy

The Dineen Program is a "Hockey Only" institution, providing its students with a well disciplined setting, but a pleasant and concerned environment, conducive to their hockey and character development.

Power Skating Techniques, Checking, and Fundamental Skills will be stressed, with the emphasis placed on individual development and hockey understanding. We'll supply you with the environment and opportunity to be as accomplished as possible. Each student will receive the near equivalent of a year's practice ice time in a fast-paced, high-tempo setting. An off-ice speed training program is included at our residential school in Westfield.
